Prayer for healing
Yeshua always healed while he walked on earth and still heals today. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. However, healing most often begins with the sanctification of the heart. Dr MK Strydom, author of this great book deals with the spiritual root of every existing illness today. Dr Strydom makes the bold statement that ‘no disease is incurable’ and further explains that we are spiritual beings and that is why all sickness also has a spiritual root (often demonic). Through our own experiences and biblical truths we have found this to be true and in our teachings and various counselling sessions we have learnt how to deal with the spiritual root foremost with the help of Ruach (Holy Spirit). The Lord shines His glorious light on these issues and then addresses the sickness in the body. We call this getting rid of the ‘legal ground’ the enemy uses to attack you in the first place and might continue to do if it remains. We have found this to be more effective in the long run.
Yeshua also dealt with people in this way and spoke straight to the soul. Instead of saying: ‘you are healed’, he would often say ‘your sins are forgiven’ (Matthew 9:1-8), or ‘you are cleansed’. His kindness brought forth repentance and it shows how He dealt with the spirit and soul firstly since this is where healing begins. The rest will then naturally fall into alignment with the Kingdom principles of Heaven as your body submits to soul, your soul to your spirit and then your DNA starts to change to that of Yeshua (Christ Jesus). This is key.
A great place to start is forgiveness and repentance. There is no future without forgiveness and unfortunately the enemy can really use offence and bitterness to keep people ensnared and sick. Whether it is our fault or not, if we do not address the soul wounds first, we might struggle with the healing part, or staying healed for that matter. This is why people can get healed the one year, with another re-occurrence later in their life (Matthew 12:43-46). Ask the Lord to give you the grace to forgive. He forgave you after all.
Beloved, get your house in order. Your house is your soul. If your soul is healed, then you will have nothing in common with the evil one. Do not give the enemy a foothold. After forgiveness, you break every curse Ruach (Holy Spirit) shows you and take it out by the root so you will never revisit your sickbed again!
If we are not healthy and healed we can still glorify Him, since He surely can work ‘all things together for your good’, but you might really struggle to run this race with strength and endurance as you could and may die way before your time, as many unfortunately do. Yeshua paid a dear price for us so that we can have this gift of divine health even in this fallen world. Isn’t this worth fighting for?
Beloved, get established in your identity in Him, declaring His promises over your life as a son and heir in the Kingdom (Romans 8). We recommend taking communion daily, even hourly, as this is a powerful tool the Lord has given us.
It also helps to anoint yourself or your loved-ones with oil. Olive oil would work if you don’t have any anointing oils (available to order from Soldiers 4 Christ office). It is really taking a prophetic action and standing on His word.
Never give up. If for some reason you do not get healed instantly, keep proclaiming until it manifests in the natural and continue to worship in faith. Stay in faith, rest and trust in Him that He has heard your prayers and when healing is progressive rather than instant, it is for a greater and higher purpose. Seek His face, seek His presence. No sickness or sin can stand in His presence. Speak only life over yourself. Negative energy released through negative thoughts and words against yourself attract death. Agree with Him and with His Word concerning you. Think only as He does concerning you – thoughts of good and not evil. Thoughts of prosperity and not disaster. Activate His Life over yourself daily in this way. He wants you to LIVE!
LET’S PRAY
Jehovah El Roi, I thank You that You see me and hear me. There is none like You. You care so much for me. You are Jehovah Rapha (Exodus 15:26), my Healer. All healing comes from You. Yeshua, I thank You that it is by Your stripes that I am healed (Isaiah 53:4-5; 1 Peter 2:24). I look for the manifestation of my healing to break forth in Your mighty name! Your Word says not to be wise in my own eyes but to fear You, depart from evil and doing this will be health to my flesh and strength to my bones (Psalm 3:7-8). So Lord, I come to You humbly and ask You to help me to leave behind any way that is not of You. Lord, I ask You to search my heart and show me any offensive way within me that I may turn from it and toward You in repentance (Psalm 139:23-24). Your name is above every name (Philippians 2:9-10) and every illness and disease must bow to the name of Yeshua who redeemed me from the curse because He became a curse for me (Galatians 3:1-3).
Yeshua, show me the way of life, granting me the joy of Your presence and the pleasures of living with You forever. Preserve my life and let the days of my life be prolonged. Spare my precious life from the sword and from wicked, evil men. I give my life to You and come to You for protection. Let me not be disgraced, for in You I take refuge. Add many years to my life O God! May my years span the generations! Protect my life from my enemies and from the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy. Deliver me from evil! O God who lives forever, do not take my life before its complete lifespan.
Fill my life with good things so that my youth is renewed as an eagle’s. Turn my eyes from worthless things and give me life through Your Word. I long to obey Your Word, which keeps me alive. Renew my life with Your goodness. Keep me from all harm and watch over my life. Preserve my life for the glory of Your name. Protect my heart from the greed of money for it robs one of life. Give me the spirit of the fear of the Lord for it will lengthen my life. Make me godly for godly people find life – but evil people find death. Bond me with the wise and let them instruct me, for this is like a life-giving fountain. As I accept their instruction, I’ll avoid the snares of death. The path of life leads upwards for the wise; they leave the grace behind. Cause me to walk with the wise so I can be wise too!
Tame my tongue so I can control it, then I will have a long life; opening my mouth can ruin everything, so protect me from being ensnared by the words of my own mouth. Set my tongue apart to bring life, for the power of life and death is in the tongue. Cause me to be willing and obedient to You so I can keep my life, for despising Your Word leads to death. The fear of the Lord leads to life, bringing security and protection from harm. True humility and the fear of the Lord leads to riches, honor and long life. As I pursue righteousness and unfailing love, I find life, righteousness and honor.
NO DEATH
Lord forgive me if I ever wished my life away and knowingly or unknowingly made a covenant with death. I now renounce it and I place all my confidence in the finished work of Yeshua Hammasiach at the cross on my behalf. Thank you for the gift of life! I allow your precious blood to wash, cleanse and speak over me right now. I plead the blood of Yeshua over my life, spirit, soul and body, every area of my life, family, and loved ones. Thank You for Your blood that covers me. Your Word says that life is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11) and because Your blood covers me Your life covers me and Your blood cleanses me of all sin (1 John 1:7). Thank You for delivering me out of all the afflictions coming against me (Psalm 34:17).
Lord, I believe that when You died, You carried the punishment of death on my behalf and released upon me new life at my born again experience. I refuse to live therefore, as a slave to the fear of death. You have already conquered death and You have already defeated the devil who had power over death. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that through Your sacrifice at the cross, You have redeemed me from the power of death. You became a human being so that by going through death as a man, You might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might set free those who live their lives as preys to the fear of death, those who were slaves all their lives because they were afraid of dying.
Because You shared in my humanity, I now share in Your resurrected life. You have conquered death and the grave! You are the Living One! You died and You are alive forevermore, and You have the keys of death and Hades. I do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth. I receive an increase of life now in the name of Yeshua Hammasiach of Nazareth! In the name of Yeshua Hammasiach of Nazareth, I decree that by the wisdom of God in me, and His righteousness, my days are multiplied and the years of my life are increased.
I shall not die, but live to declare the works of the Lord. I shall not be struck down in my prime. I will flourish like the date-palm (long-lived, upright and useful). I am planted in the presence and in the house of God, therefore I will flourish in the courts of God. Growing in grace continually, I will still thrive, bear fruit and prosper in age. I will be vital and fresh, rich in trust, love and contentment. Because I worship and serve only Him, God will continually bless me with an ample supply of wholesome food and clean water. He takes away all sicknesses from me, prevents miscarriages and barrenness and gives me a long, productive life, a full life span, a long, full life, a full and complete life. Because I do not speak evil, hurtful words or deceive in anything I do, I will enjoy life and see good days. I will embrace life and see my days fill up with good. By the power of the Spirit of the fear of the Lord, the Lord increases my life. I cling to God for He is my life and the length of my days. He is the Resurrection and the life. Thank You Heavenly Father because this is my reality now!
I confess and declare according to the Word of God that God is going to satisfy me with a long, enjoyable life and I will enjoy riches and honor, pleasantness and favor all around me for the rest of my long, enjoyable life. I will not build and another occupy. What I am building, I will enjoy it to the fullest! I will not plant or invest and another eat the fruit. No one can take my life away from me. I shall not die; instead, I will live to declare the works of the Lord and enjoy the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Whatever I have invested over the years, I shall live to enjoy all its rewards! I will enjoy and long make use of the work of my hands! Because I am the righteousness of God in Yeshua, it is well with me and I will eat the fruit of my labor! The Word of God says we shall declare a thing and it shall be established for us. I have declared, and so shall it be. It can never be reversed!
The fear of the Lord within me causes me to be wise and leads to life. It brings me into security and protection from harm. Yes, the Lord protects me from certain death, stands with me and gives me strength. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into His Heavenly Home. I choose life and reject death by obeying the voice of God and by clinging to Him for He is my life and the length of my days. I live, not by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
The Lord avenges on my behalf, contending with anyone who contends against me. He rescues me from evil and wicked people, for not everyone is a believer. The Lord is faithful; He will strengthen me and guard me from the evil one. I will not be afraid. The Lord makes me strong like a fortified city that cannot be captured, like an iron pillar or a bronze wall. I will stand against the enemy. Though they fight me, they will fail, for God is with me and will take care of me. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff comfort me.
The angel of the Lord is a guard, surrounding and defending me because I fear the Lord. The Lord is my Rock of safety where I can always hide. O God, rescue me from the power of the wicked and clutches of cruel oppressors. You alone are my hope. You have been with me from birth; from my mother’s womb You have cared for me.
It is Your breath that gives me life and understanding in my spirit. You made all the hosts of heaven by Your breath. You send forth Your Spirit, and they are created; and You renew the face of the ground. You are Life. You give Life.
You pour out Your Spirit upon me and the wilderness becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field is considered a forest. Within You is the spring, the life-giving fountain. In Your light I see light.
As for me, God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of the grave. This is the confession of my faith. So standing on Your promises, I declare in Yeshua’s mighty name: I am an over comer because of Your blood and the word of my testimony (Revelation 12:11) no weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that rises against me in judgment shall be condemned! This is my heritage as a servant of the Lord from whom my righteousness comes (Isaiah 54:17), all curses over my life are broken right now in the name of Yeshua! Any negative report spoken over me is null and void and I come out of agreement with it in Yeshua’s mighty name! Complete physical and emotional healing in my life. You have given me abundant peace and security (Jeremiah 33:6) that You sustain me on my sickbed and restore me from my bed of illness (Psalm 41:3). The binding up and the healing of the broken places in my life in Yeshua’s name (Isaiah 61:1) that by Your blood I am made whole and by Your stripes I am healed (1 Peter 2:24). You, Yeshua, paid the price for my healing. I am whole and I walk in the knowledge of Your love and sacrifice. I am healed in Your name! I await Your perfect timing. Lord, increase my faith as I wait upon You. In Yeshua’ name I pray.
PETITION: HOSPITAL AND SURGICAL PROCEDURES
ABBA Father God, we come before Your Throne of Mercy to petition for the safety and protection of (insert person’s name) during the surgical procedure of (insert what procedure is being done), on (insert the day and time). We come to record that we are standing in covenantal relationship with You Almighty Father. We are included in the tribes of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by virtue of the fact that we have accepted Yeshua (Jesus) as our Saviour. You are our stronger partner. In this time of need we bring the entire place (the hospital ward, theatre, hospital section) and time (admission, pre-op procedures, time in theatre, recovering time after operation) before You. We ask You to sweep, with Your broom of destruction, throughout the hospital ward and the theatre – please cleanse these rooms before (insert person’s name) gets there. Remove any traces of death and disease from the places where (insert person’s name) will move in the time of his/her admission to hospital and the operation. We ask that no dead human spirit and/or demonic spirit be transferred to (insert person’s name).
